How GoCarma Works in Some Other Cities

In some other metro areas, when you drive through an HOV / Express Lane, the GoCarma app will record a transaction and present the details to you on the home screen of the app.

Bringing GoCarma to Other Cities

In other places, law enforcement personnel attempt to confirm the HOV status of vehicles by carrying out periodic roadside spot checks. That's a very ineffective approach, as it's difficult for officers to peer inside vehicles passing at highway speeds - and to issue more than 2 or 3 citations per hour. It's also expensive, and danger for officers.

The GoCarma approach is proven to be much more effective at ensuring HOV discounts and incentives are offered to qualifying vehicles only.
